Danube River Vacation Package Details

Travel down the brilliant blue Danube, experiencing the nature, history, and culture of riverside settlements in Germany, Austria, and Slovakia. Fall in love with intimate villages, sophisticated cities, and the sprawling countryside found on the banks of Europe's second-longest river.

Your tour begins and ends in Munich, well known for its German cuisine, beer specialties, and the original Oktoberfest. It also has a vibrant art scene and beautifully preserved architecture.

From there, travel to Salzburg for a city tour of this stunning ancient capital. First settled during the Neolithic Age, it has been home to Celts, Romans, and the singing von Trapp family in the many centuries since. Learn the real history of the beloved musical on a Sound of Music tour.

Enjoy Vienna, one of history’s greatest cities, whose impact on the world’s music and culture cannot be overstated. It is home to museums, the Giant Ferris Wheel, opulent palaces like the Hofburg, and the stunning Vienna State Opera House.

Slovakia’s riverside city of Bratislava, bordered by the Small Carpathia Mountains and lowland vineyards, is one of Europe’s most appealing under-the-radar destinations.

Tiny Krems has been a longtime producer of fine wines, and is home to several excellent wineries. Nearby Melk is known for its towering baroque Melk Abbey, an 11th century Benedictine abbey perched on a rocky outcrop above the Danube.

Full of historical buildings, UNESCO-recognized Linz is rich with opportunities for discovery and exploration. Don’t miss the unique pastel Old City, and be sure to sample a traditional Linzer Torte.

Back in Munich, enjoy a tour and farewell at the original Hofbräuhaus, Munich's second largest tourist attraction. Say auf wiedersehen at this historical tavern featuring authentic food and dirndl-clad waitresses.
